Paul's Bio

Paul Mowbray is a prolific and gifted songwriter, teacher, composer, and guitarist. After growing up, teaching, and studying music in Saskatoon, Paul moved to the west coast of BC.

Paul's workshops and private lessons are held in high esteem. As is his reputation as a dedicated and inspiring performer and teacher.

Paul was artistic director of the Salt Spring Island Jazz Festival in 2010, is a former board member of the Salt Spring Folk Club, and co-ordinates the Victoria Regional Writer's Group on behalf of the Songwriters' Association of Canada. Paul has a B.A. with music major, lives in Victoria, and continues to compose, perform, and teach.

Mowbray and Mills:
Paul co-writes and performs with violinist/ vocalist Tracy Mills. They met in 2006 and have been playing together ever since. "Mowbray and Mills" perform as a duo or with their band.

Their debut CD "Game" was released in 2007 featuring 10 original songs with trademark violin and guitar. Pop, folk, and classical sensibilities combined for a well-received first release. Their 2009 CD "RadioPlay" features new songs and some re-mixes of "GAME" favourites.


Paul Mowbray Solo:
Paul performs solo in bistros, restaurants, and clubs. His repertoire includes original songs and popular songwriter standards (Beatles, Mark Knopfler, Bruce Cockburn), blues, and atmospheric guitar instrumentals. His solo show is designed to work in rooms from the quietly atmospheric to the engaged listening audience.


Paul also performs in a world jazz duo, "Mowbray and Wall", with saxophonist Mike Wall. Their CD "The Wave Project" was released in 2000
